Hear my Voice

So now as you read this post, are you wondering what my voice sounds like? Yeah, I knew you were :)

That got me to thinking (dangerous as that can be). It also got me to playing with Garage Band and that fabulous Podcast feature and, well...

My son, Drew, is nine-and-a-half. Don't forget the half. It's very important. He's an avid reader who enjoyed The Last Olympian so much that he's reading it for a second time. And believe me, since I paid full price the day it came out, I'm thrilled to be getting my money's worth out of the book!

Anyway, I dragged him over to my computer and started asking him questions about the book and recorded it all. Forgive the one-word answers. He's nine. And a half. And never been interviewed before!

Assuming I can figure out how to upload the file to Blogger (!) maybe you'll have a better idea about the voice behind the blog :)

45 minutes later: *sigh* Making the podcast was easy. Embedding it is not. Maybe next time I'll just do a video...

UPDATE: Okay, since I can't seem to embed the file on this page, try clicking the link below to hear the podcast. Hope it works!!

Ohhh, I want to hear the interview. I am always looking for new things for my 9 (almost 10 yr old) boy to read. He's whipping through The LIghtning Thief books right now.
I can't seem to find a link to the podcast...Do you have it up? If so, Help?

Kelly - It's not you, it's me! I thought I embedded it in the page, but it's not showing up. Not sure why.

I'll let you all know when I figure it out!

What a wonderful interview--it worked fine for me. And he TOTALLY didn't do one-word answers. He was great! :)

oh my gosh! this is so cute! his voice is so deep for a 9-y-old. Maybe it's that extra half?

What a great keepsake for you!

1 or 2 clicks, it worked great on my pc.

It was fun to hear your voice. Your son responded well to your questions, I thought. Nothing canned, and his opinions were charming. Nice job!
Did you edit the audio?
-Think you might use this with other interviews?

Wow! You guys are too cool!

I love that interview. Drew sounds very smart and now I know what you sound like. What a treat! Thanks for the podcast!

Lisa and Laura - His voice is kinda deep. He's always had a very distinctive voice :)

John - It wasn't planned at all. I literally called him over to the computer and started asking him questions. No prep. So yeah, he did really well :)

Suzanne - He is a smart kid (I'd say that even if I wasn't his mother)! Glad you enjoyed :)

All right. I'm going to make this work for me! I'm determined to!

This is funny - my son had to help me with my audio post too... You can hear me read the latest chapter from my novel of Greek Mythology on my blog page attached below.

You both sound great! This downloaded straight into iTunes. How did you do that?

I didn't know you could do this on Garage Band, so I'll have to play around with this.

I just realized that this is the fifth book in the series that my son is reading (he's on book 3). Loved hearing your son's thoughts on it. I like hearing what someone my son's age thinks of the same books he is reading!
Your voice is lovely by the way!

This is great. Your son is funny, especially when he says it could be "awesomer". Indeed.

I am a converted Mac disciple myself. I got it because of the writing program Scrivener and am completely in love with it. Nice to meet you.
