So...
I'm taking the plunge, pushing myself out of my comfort zone, and resolving to hold myself accountable for the following actions...*gulp*
- I will play tennis at least once a week. So much more fun than working out in a gym.
- I will finish writing current wip as well as one other story waiting in the wings.
- I will be better at staying in touch with certain friends on the phone. Even though I don't understand what they have against email!
- I will be more present (i.e. not thinking about fictional people when I am with real people).
- If WISH YOU WEREN'T sells, I will buy hubby that kayak he's been drooling over.
Okay, so it's not a big list. I'm taking baby steps here. But I do believe that every new year is filled with plenty of hope and a belief anything is possible, even for someone who hates to make resolutions.
No matter what your hopes, dreams or goals are for the new year, I wish you all the best for 2011. Happy New Year!

Good for you. It looks like you have set some aggresive but attainable goals with great rewards for acheivment. Congratulations on writing them down and sharing them with others. That's a great step! Good luck and Happy New Year.
Love #4! I'm not sure any writer can truly do that, though.
Last year, I set goals and didn't keep them, so I'm wary of that this year. I haven't decided what I'll shoot for yet.
Good luck with yours and heaps of good wishes for the new year.
1-I'm shocked you think you're a glass-half-full person.
2-Please don't tell me husband that kayaks may be tied in any way to book deals.
3-I SO struggle with the "being present" thing. Really need to work on that.
Good for you, for venturing out of your comfort zone! :)
I'm with you--resolutions look like things I WON'T achieve, so I typically avoid them. But this year I'll be posting, seems like I have a need to say a few things out loud! :)
Good luck with all of yours (and I totally get the phone/email thing!).
These are great resolutions. I think I've got mine figured out...but not my writing ones.
I fear 2011 will be the year of revision for me.
le sigh.
I like the variety in your list. Everything from health, friendship, professional and personal. Good luck.
I'm not a resolution person either. I SO do number four. My poor family talking to me and I'm in my fiction world.
I want to complete my new WIP, land an agent, and get a full-time regular teaching. But those aren't resolutions so much as my usual goals.
Hope you squeeze in more tennis.
Happy New Year!
Good luck to you, Sherrie! I think they seem like reachable goals, but #4 may be hard! My kids have to say MOM three times before I answer sometimes :).
I think baby steps are a good way to go. :)
Hmm, I think my main (and perhaps only) resolution is to bring new pages to my writing group every week.
This is a good list. Go you! I need to make my resolution post too!
I did the public resolutions and progress thing for this year. I have to confess, I stopped posting my progress about midway through. Sort of forgot... -__-'
On the other hand, I think it did help pressure me into keeping up with them!
I have never really done a NY's resolution list because I knew I would fail. Or maybe I didn't want to fail. Or something. The last few years, however, I've decided on one attitude I would try to practice as often as I remember, and I think it's been good for me. That attitude? Cut 'em some slack.
Way to go coming out of your comfort zone. You go girl. Best of luck to you!
I'm kind of stuck for resolutions this year. I'm in a rut. I guess my only resolution thus far is just to keep plugging along and not let discouragement get me down.
Have a Happy New Year!
Those seem like good quality, realistic resolutions to me... My fingers are crossed for you! (As if that actually makes a difference, ha!) =)
Those are great goals, Sherrie - good luck with them! My dream goal is to get an agent this year. And I hope to start a new writing project. :-)
I think it's a great list. I tend not to make resolutions either, though I do have hopes/dreams for the year!
Great list of resolutions. Good luck with them, and happy New Year!
