Six More Reasons...

...why I love The Book Loft. Who doesn't love going into a bookstore and leaving with free ARCs of some of the hottest upcoming titles? The first ARC they ever gave me was The Hunger Games. Yeah. I about died. This pile made me babble with incoherent joy. Now you understand why I feel guilty if I buy books at B&N or Amazon. I love my local Indie!

This time they gave me:

Matched by Ally Condie
Scumble by Ingrid Law (sequel to Savvy)
After the Wreck by Joyce Carol Oates
Sapphique by Catherine Fischer (sequel to Incarceron)
Crossing Over by Anna Kendall
Nightshade by Andrea Cremer

What are you reading this summer?

Just finished Incarceron and onto L.A. Candy. Hush Hush is waiting in the wings (among WAY too many other books)!

Have a good weekend!

Finishing up a Nora Roberts series (In The Garden trilogy) then reading some YA fantasy lent to me by a friend. After that, I don't know what, but I hope I can get all that done in July!

You found ARCs in a bookstore! Awesome.

I'm reading Book 8 of Sisters Grimm right now.

Thank goodness for your blog--I didn't even KNOW there was a sequel to Savvy!!! Thanks for the update.

Marissa: Oooh, how did you like Incarceron? I need to move that one to the top of my pile since The Book Loft gave me the sequel!

Kristan: My TBR piles have taken over every part of my house. It's literally a paper explosion over here!

Janet: After I read your comment I realized I needed to clarify -- The Book Loft GIVES me ARCs. That's why I love my local Indie. And I love the Sisters Grimm books, too. I read book 1 and 2 with my kids.

Becky: Yes, there's a sequel and it looks wonderful. I'll have to review it after I read it.

That's so cool. They just give them away? How do they get such great ARCs?

Sherrie Petersen said...

Lois: They only give them away to special people...

This is a small area and they're the only new book store so they essentially have the market cornered, but in a good way! I spend a lot of money in there as well, so I guess they don't mind passing some good stuff my way :)

Oh my goodness, I have been coveting all those books! It makes me wish I were a special person living wherever you live :) I've been going through all of Shannon Hale's books and I hope to finish them this summer. I'm also planning on reading the Hunger Games (finally!)

I've got too many books on my list to name . . . including two by M. Steifvater (both which I won on the blogs). ;)

I can't wait to read Matched. I've already pre-ordered it. :D

I won a copy of the arc for Sapphique too. But LiLa Roecker told me I would HATE Incarceron . . . they know my taste too well. ;)

Gwen: Aren't they wonderful in there? I feel so lucky :)

Laura: I didn't get to keep Matched but I've already pre-ordered it from them. It's SOOOOO good!

Tiana: The Hunger Games is one of my favorite books ever. The only Shannon Hale I've read is Goose Girl, but I want to try more of hers as well.

Sharon: Yes, I do love my local indie :)

Stina: You are one of the luckiest people I know on the internet! Have fun reading your stash!

If I took a picture right now, I'd be green. I am so jealous of all those ARC's! How awesome is it that they just give you all those??

Not that I can really complain :) I've got a big pile of TBR books sitting in my room

Wow. Your Indies are the Indies out here BUT I absolutely adore my Indies.

This summer I am reading book after book. Most recently Between Shades of Gray, due out next spring. Wonderful.

I pretty much would love to read all of those! You have a great summer of reading ahead. I just finished SHIVER and thought it was great. I've got WILL GRAYSON and LOOKING FOR ALASKA coming up. Yay.

Ooo. I am so jealous!

Although I am too, reading free books, courtesy of the fabulous Kelly Polark. I won a contest on her blog and I'm enjoying DEAD UNTIL DARK, the first book in the True Blood series.

Yay for free books!

This is the most amazing bookstore. I have some beautiful books I bought from their loft of used books the last time I visited Solvang (they even have a whole section of Danish books!). You are so fortunate.
