Mantra for a Monday

When I saw these little magnets in the store, I knew I had to have them. But it was Christmas, the time of year when you're supposed to buy for others, not yourself.

So I gave hubby very strong hints. As in I wrote the name of product on the back of a coupon for the store and told him they would make a lovely present. Apparently the hint was not strong enough.

And so, a few weeks ago, I went back to the store and bought them for myself.

I hung them in a place that I pass by every day, many times each day. They are my mantra. I love the words, especially the last two. It's good to dream and wish and believe. But ultimately, you have it do it for yourself.

What's your mantra for this Monday?

PS. Tomorrow is the last day to enter your name for a chance to win the autographed copy of Ballad by Maggie Stiefvater. Visit this link, make sure you're a follower and leave a comment. I'll announce the winner on Wednesday.

You are right, you can wish all you want, but you must believe you can do it and go after it!
Love the magnets!

My mantra today is "Fake it 'til you feel it!" I'm not in a very good mood(thanks to bratty class of students) so I'm faking a good mood until I feel it. :-)

Boy, hubby is a little slow :)

Great words to live by. The blogosphere is so full of inspiration today!

Sheesh, husbands. I'm glad you went back and got them yourself. What a great mantra! Can I just use yours? No?

All right. How about:
Word Hard
Don't Give Up
Pay it Forward

I like that.

Yeah, hubby's and the hints that fall flat! I make hand-stamped jewelry and people always want these kinds of inspirational sayings stamped on. My newest favorite request? live.love.grow. Have a great day!

Very similar mantra: Just get it done. Unfortunately, what I want to get done (some writing) has to go on hold for what I *need* to get done (stuff for work, parenting and critiques for friends) - all things I love, but I need more time. Less sleep isn't serving me well. :)

Those are excellent!
And men don't do hints well...

life is too short for crap
keep my mouth shout

- what I mean is that it is so tempting to get bogged down in the little distractions... and sometimes it is just better to say nothing.

yeah, I've figured out, hubby doesn't get hints!!! Good grief, I have to spell it out for him.

My mantra today is Peace at last!

I think I've quoted it here before, but I have a bookmark a crit group member gave me that is pinned to the bulletin board behind my laptop. It says, "Never, never, never quit - Winston Churchill." That's my mantra.

That reminds me of my favorite line from Joseph and the amazing technicolor dream coat, "If you think it, want it, feel it, then it's real, you are what you feel."

Great magnets! I don't really have a mantra for today, but there's one in a book I just read that said, "First do it, then talk."

I love your mantra. Hmmm. I think I have to go shopping and find one for me. I love the idea of putting it near by computer. :)

If there is one thing I've learned husbands rarely get the hint, unless you literally hit them upside the head with it.

I'm striving to be more of a 'do it' person. One of my favorite saying is - you are what you want to be. (Hugs)Indigo

Ha, ha. I love you gave hints your your hubby and when he didn't pay attention, you bought the great magnet for yourself.

Now I'm going to have to look for a good mantra to get me through the day. Maybe something about picking myself up.... Thanks for the inspiration!

You have time!

I constantly tell myself I don't have enough time to get everything done, but I really do.

Every writer needs to have that hanging over their computer! I love it.
