I can't wait to get it for her.

I'm intrigued, though. The Delacorte contest states that you can't enter historical novels. The most famous story is about Christopher Paul Curtis who submitted The Watsons Go To Birmingham, and they wouldn't let him win because it takes place in the sixties (of course, they published it even though it was ineligible for the contest--and it went on to sweep the awards!). Have they changed the rules? Just curious.

Thanks for the great interview!Hardygirlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02268385174949496800noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9011133488035315179.post-86501394716659341902009-08-16T20:40:53.186-07:002009-08-16T20:40:53.186-07:00How very, very cool that you scored this interview...How very, very cool that you scored this interview! Good job, I really enjoyed it :)

And, I have this book on my 'to read' list. I have eyed that contest as well. I'll have to move the book to the top of the list now that I have all this great info.

btw, thanks for the email...so glad you found a good deal at Amazon -- hooray! that always feels good. And, sorry we weren't near Solvang. Though, we love that place. I used to visit it quite often as a kid living in so-cal. We'd stop at Andersons Pea Soup along the way, it was a tradition. Then I married a guy who speaks Danish and just HAD to take him there. He loved it and talked the waitresses ear off. He said the pastries were as close as he has ever found to actual Danish pasteries and food. Will have to go back there some day....good times....good times...Tesshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10014195715998913268noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9011133488035315179.post-91972059870816526552009-08-16T13:11:02.373-07:002009-08-16T13:11:02.373-07:00Great interview!
